Making the Connection to Learner and Learning
In the last 20 years, the societal and educational use of information and communication technologies has transformed our world in ways we could have scarcely imagined. With the more recent rise of Customer Relationship Management (CRM), customized communication tools, and artificial intelligence engines, we are now connected to and with each other as never before. This presentation explores the implications and challenges of these trends, and presents a case for developing Learner Relationship Management (LRM). Through an LRM lens, we can see how institutions, nationally and internationally, use a variety of tools and strategies – whether web, phone, or face to face – to help students make more powerful connections to learning and to help institutions build lasting relationships with their learners.
